Politics can be a dirty game. This Democrat found that out the hard way.
And a Democrat Senator collapses to his knees after being betrayed by these Leftists.
Fetterman Faces Fire From Leftist News Outlet
Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania found himself at the center of a media storm following a provocative New York magazine article that raised questions about his mental health and leadership.
The piece, which Fetterman dismissed as a “one-source hit piece” from a “very left publication,” quoted current and former staffers painting a troubling picture of the senator’s behavior, describing him as “erratic” and detailing tensions with his wife, Gisele.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Fetterman brushed off the report’s claims. “A one-source hit piece, some anonymous sources. So there’s nothing new,” he said, rejecting suggestions that the article reflected genuine concern for his well-being. “They are actually not concerned, it’s a hit piece.”
The article leaned heavily on the perspective of Adam Jentleson, Fetterman’s former chief of staff, who resigned last year. Jentleson reportedly sent an urgent email to the senator’s doctor, expressing alarm: “I think John is on a bad trajectory and I’m really worried about him.”
He added that without change, he fears Fetterman “won’t be with us for much longer.” Other claims in the piece included an incident where Fetterman was “nearly struck by a car” and a time when he was found “wandering” the Capitol. Questions also swirled about whether Fetterman was consistently taking his prescribed medications—allegations he sidestepped during Tuesday’s press interaction.
Fetterman’s response to Jentleson’s actions was sharp. “In December 2023, Adam Jentleson took action that kindized the privacy/sanctity of my confidential medical records,” he told New York magazine. “I subsequently directed my doctors to sever any access Adam could have to my medical information.”
The senator’s health has been a focal point since May 2022, when, as Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor, he suffered a stroke just days before securing the Democratic Senate primary. Despite speech and communication challenges, Fetterman went on to defeat Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz—now the administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services—in the November 2022 election.
In his first year as senator, Fetterman sought treatment for depression, checking himself into a hospital. His openness about mental health struggles has been both praised and scrutinized.
A significant shift came in October 2023, following Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel. Fetterman’s staunch support for Israel sparked friction with his progressive base and some staffers.
More than a dozen former campaign officials penned an anonymous letter after the attack, calling his stance a “gutting betrayal.” Even Gisele, according to one staffer, challenged her husband’s position, asking, “They are bombing refugee camps; how can you support this?”
Fetterman, however, stood firm, noting that Gisele “has her own voice” and that differing opinions are “very common in political marriage.”
Gisele also fired back at Jentleson, accusing him of spreading “scary, untrue stories about John’s health.” She recounted to the outlet how she consulted Fetterman’s doctors, who were baffled by Jentleson’s claims.
“Those doctors would tell me that their concerns were not with John, but with Adam,” she said. “Any alleged ‘concerns’ heard from me came straight from those lies, not from John’s doctors or my own eyes.”
Ironically, Jentleson had once defended Fetterman against criticism. When staffers questioned the senator’s Israel stance in 2023, Jentleson posted on X: “The thing about being a staffer is that no one elected you to represent them.”
Now, his own words and actions have fueled a narrative that has left Fetterman defending his health, his marriage, and his leadership.
As the dust settles, Fetterman remains defiant, framing the controversy as a targeted attack rather than a reflection of his capacity to serve. For now, the senator is pushing forward, navigating both personal challenges and the political firestorm that shows no signs of fading.
