Financial scandal involving this top Democrat has Congress in an uproar

Rep. Eric Swalwell

The skeletons in this Leftist’s closet have finally come out. The secrets that were found could be detrimental to their career.

And a financial scandal involving this top Democrat has Congress in an uproar.

According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) used a large amount of cash from his campaign to purchase Super Bowl tickets.

The cash was also used for other items that were purchased at the stadium.

On February 11, the day of the Super Bowl, Swalwell posted on his Instagram account a picture of him at the game wearing San Francisco 49ers apparel.

This immediately caused speculation as to how he got tickets for the game considering he reported a debts in financial disclosure reports in the past.

According to a pre-primary filing to the FEC, Swalwell’s campaign spent $22,000 on February 6 for “event tickets” with the Forty Niners Football Company, LLC. The purchase was considered a fundraising expense.

The filing also shows a purchase of more than $100 at Allegiant Stadium where the Super Bowl was held.

$30,900 was spent to the “Las Vegas Raiders,” which is the team that plays their home games at Allegiant Stadium.

That purchase was labeled as “Event Tickets for Fundraising Event,” in the filing.

$3,000 were also spent on “food and beverages” at Alexxa’s Las Vegas which is a bar and restaurant.

The Washington Free Beacon was the first to report the high expenses, and Swalwell’s campaign has not responded to any request for a comment regarding the situation.

This also isn’t the first time Swalwell and his campaign have spent a large portion of money on what many would consider luxury items.

On December 4, $1,560 were spent on “Fundraising Event Tickets” at Aramark at Lincoln Financial Field. That’s the stadium where the Philadelphia Eagles play.

The NFL schedule shows that the Eagles played Swalwell’s favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers on December 3.

A recent filing also notes how Swalwell spent more than $3,000 in January at a spa and hotel known as the Lowes Hotel Miami Beach.

Perhaps its time the California congressman’s constituents take a hard glance at his FEC filings to see exactly what his campaign is spending it’s cash on.

It’s almost like Swalwell is using his position in Congress to earn himself some luxury vacations each year.

But we shouldn’t be surprised at a Democrat’s poor spending habits.
