Harris is still wallowing in defeat. She suffered a historic loss against Donald Trump.

And Kamala Harris’ team has made a confession about her losing campaign that will shock you.

The leadership team behind outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign revealed that internal polling consistently showed Harris trailing or tied with President-elect Donald Trump, despite public polls suggesting otherwise.

After President Joe Biden’s poll numbers took a significant hit in June and July, Harris’s entry into the race initially seemed to offer Democrats a lifeline.

Throughout late summer and into the fall, numerous reputable public polls indicated that Harris held a lead over Trump. However, David Plouffe, a senior adviser to Harris’s campaign, stated that their internal data told a different story.

“We didn’t get the breaks we needed on Election Day,” Plouffe said during an appearance on the Pod Save America podcast.

“I think it surprised people because there were these public polls that came out in late September, early October, showing us with leads that we never saw.”

Plouffe explained that their internal polling remained largely unchanged after Harris entered the race in July.

Joining him on the podcast were other key figures from the campaign, including campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon, deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks, and messaging strategist Stephanie Cutter, all of whom echoed his sentiments.

“The truth is that we really thought this was a very close race; we talked about the entire time we saw it as a margin-of-error race,” Dillon explained.

The team also revealed they had anticipated certain challenges, such as Republicans expanding their margin in Florida and a surprisingly tight race in Virginia.

These developments only reinforced their belief that the campaign faced steep odds from the beginning.

Looking back, the Harris campaign leaders described the race as fundamentally unwinnable, emphasizing that the obstacles they faced left little room for a different outcome.

Despite their candid reflections, public reaction to the podcast was overwhelmingly critical. Commenters on YouTube voiced frustration with the campaign’s apparent lack of accountability.

“This interview was absolutely bananas. They admit zero fault. What a disaster,” one commenter wrote. Another remarked, “The long and the short of it is that none of these people should ever run a national campaign ever again. The Obama era is over.”

The campaign’s internal struggles, which were kept largely under wraps during the race, contributed to widespread perceptions that the election was a toss-up.

However, the final results painted a different picture, with Trump winning the popular vote and sweeping every swing state—a Republican performance not seen since 2004.
