DeSantis is known for his no-nonsense politics. His latest action is quick to prove this.
And that’s because Ron DeSantis issued a threat that has this foreign enemy shaking in their boots.
The United State’s southern border is a disaster zone.
The Biden administration’s lack of action has allowed thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens to enter the country.
And with these illegal immigrants comes members of dangerous cartels who are peddling drugs across the border.
Florida Governor and current Republican presidential candidate, Ron DeSantis is not taking lightly to the situation.
In an interview with Norah O’Donnell, the host of CBS Evening News, DeSantis said he would use deadly force through the military to stop cartel members from illegally entering the country.
“We are going to lean in and we are going to defend our country,” DeSantis said.
“If there’s a woman with a baby, they’re not a cartel member, there’s not going to be authorization to just shoot somebody like that. But when somebody’s got a backpack on and they’re in there breaking through the wall, you know, that’s hostile intent, and you have every right to take action under those circumstances.”
The Florida Governor believes that this strategy would quickly deter the cartel from entering the country so easily.
“The reality is, they are overrunning our border, they’re sex trafficking, they’re human trafficking and they’re bringing in massive quantities of drugs. I mean, our country is being invaded and hurt by what they’re doing,” DeSantis continued.
“And the question is, do we just throw up our hands? And do we say there’s nothing we can do about it? Or does the leader take action?”
Unfortunately, the U.S. doesn’t have a current leader that’s willing to take action at the border.
President Biden enlisted Vice President Kamala Harris as his border czar, but predictably she’s been an utter disaster.
Even fellow Democrats such as New York City Mayor Eric Adams, have criticized the President’s response to the border crisis after his city has become overrun with illegal aliens seeking asylum.
But a Ron DeSantis presidency would put a quick end to many of the issues at the border, specifically the dangerous cartels.
“Because I’ll tell you this, I’m going to have the military at the border, 100%,” said DeSantis.
“I mean, if they’re trying to break through the wall, we will have deadly force authorized to be able to stop that.”
