The Left desperately needs Biden to win reelection next year. If he doesn’t, they won’t have anyone to push their radical policies on the American people.
And the Democrat Party is stunned after Joe Biden makes a solemn admission about the 2024 election.
President Joe Biden is poised to make another run for a second term as commander-in-chief in 2024.
But he’s recently revealed that his bid for reelection was not a sure thing until one candidate entered the race.
While speaking with donors at an event in Weston, Massachusetts, Biden said, “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running.”
He also added that Democrats “cannot let him [Trump] win.”
Back in 2019 the president expressed that he likely wouldn’t run for reelection if he were to win the 2020 election.
Obviously that mindset has changed as he’s ready to take on former President Donald Trump and believes that he’s the only person on the Left who can do so.
Not only that, but Biden believes that a Trump presidency would be incredibly dangerous for the United States.
“Trump’s not even hiding the ball anymore. He’s telling us what he’s going to do. He’s making no bones about it,” Biden said of Trump’s agenda, according to CNN.
And while President Biden believes that it’s his duty to run to stop Trump, there are some on the Left who think that Biden isn’t the best choice for Democrats.
“If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise, whether it’s in HIS best interest or the country’s,” former Barack Obama advisor David Axelrod said of Biden.
“President Biden has served our country well. I’m confident he’ll do so for the next year. But it’s time for an act of personal sacrifice and public spirit. It’s time to pass the torch to the next generation,” Bill Kristol, a political commentator and staunch supporter of the Never-Trump movement, said.
Polling also backs up these claims that Biden may not be the best option for Democrats.
According to a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll, Trump is leading Biden in six swing states, such as, Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.
A YouGov poll shows Trump leading the current president in a general election matchup.
And polling from CNN has Trump ahead of Biden among voters who are “men of color.”
But regardless of these polls, it looks like the 81-year-old Biden will continue to stay in the race as he believes he’s the Left’s best hope to stop Trump.
The polls say otherwise, but that doesn’t matter to this administration who constantly ignores facts.
