This Democrat’s return to the 2024 election has the GOP sick to their stomach

Republicans are hoping to win big this November. But those hopes may be coming to a screeching halt.

And this Democrat’s return to the 2024 election has the GOP sick to their stomach.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) may potentially have some good news to share this election year.

Republicans could very well take control of the Senate after the November elections, which would be absolutely devastating for Schumer and the Democrats.

But the senator from New York might be able to stop that from happening with the help of one fellow Leftist.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) who recently announced his decision to not run for reelection this year, could be making a comeback to the Senate as an independent, according to a proposal from Schumer.

If Manchin were to win as an independent candidate, he’d take away an opportunity for a Republican to pick up a seat in the Senate.

“I think that’s a long, long, long-shot scenario,” Manchin said to CNN about the proposal from Schumer.

“So I don’t anticipate that happening. I don’t anticipate running.”

“I don’t know if anything in Washington, D.C., is 100%,” Manchin said when pressed further on the issue.

Don Blankenship, a former coal executive in West Virginia, is planning to run for Manchin’s seat as a Democrat.

He spent a year in prison as a result of being “convicted of conspiring to breach federal mine safety and health standards after a mine explosion in 2010 that killed 29 miners,” according to the Washington Post.

People in Manchin’s camp believe that if Blankenship ends up winning the Democratic nomination for Senate, then Manchin would possibly consider running against him.

Gov. Jim Justice (R-WV) will likely be the Republican nominee for Manchin’s seat.

Former Donald Trump endorsed Justice back in October of last year.

There were rumors that Manchin was considering a third-party run for president this year.

But in February he officially put those rumors to rest and announced that he would not be running for president.

It’s assumed that if he did, he would take votes away from President Joe Biden which would help Donald Trump win the presidency.

So as for now, it looks like everyone will have to wait and see if Sen. Manchin decides to leave politics for good this year, or continue to seek office.
