Joe Biden has been at odds with Trump for years now. But no one was expecting him to say this after the former president nearly lost his life.

And President Biden made a shocking admission about the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

President Joe Biden expressed his relief on Monday after news broke of a second assassination attempt targeting former President Donald Trump, praising the U.S. Secret Service for their efforts while stressing that the agency “needs more help.”

Speaking to reporters outside the White House, Biden was asked about the recent attempt on Trump’s life, which took place on Sunday in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Ryan Routh, the man responsible for the attempt, was apprehended after Secret Service agents spotted a gun barrel protruding from a fence just 300-500 yards from Trump as he played golf.

“Thank God the president is okay,” Biden said, voicing his relief over Trump’s safety. He further emphasized the need for additional resources for the Secret Service, stating, “One thing I want to make clear is, the service needs more help. And I think Congress should respond to their need.”

When pressed by a reporter to clarify what specific assistance was needed, Biden offered a measured response: “They may decide whether they need more personnel or not.”

Biden’s remarks came just after Trump publicly accused the Biden administration of contributing to the danger he faces. In an interview with Fox News, Trump stated that “the rhetoric of Biden and Harris … is causing me to be shot at.”

This comment referred to the recent increase in attempts on Trump’s life, including the most recent one, which follows a previous attempt during a campaign rally.

The earlier attempt, which occurred on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, left Trump injured. A gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, had managed to reach a rooftop just 150 yards away from Trump and fired eight shots.

One bullet struck Trump in the right ear, while three other attendees were hit, with one person, Corey Comperatore, tragically losing his life.

The shooting sparked intense scrutiny of the Secret Service’s handling of the incident. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned soon after facing tough questions from Congress about the agency’s security failings at the rally.

Acting Director Ronald Rowe, who took over following Cheatle’s resignation, admitted, “I cannot defend” why the rooftop from which Crooks fired at Trump “was not better secured.” He also added, “What I saw made me ashamed.”

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) later revealed that whistleblowers had disclosed that Homeland Security personnel, with minimal training, were assigned to Trump’s protective detail at the Pennsylvania rally.

Despite the risks, Trump expressed his gratitude for the agents protecting him during Sunday’s incident. In a message posted on Truth Social, Trump thanked his security team and law enforcement for preventing another tragedy.

“I would like to thank everyone for your concern and well wishes – It was certainly an interesting day! Most importantly, I want to thank the U.S. Secret Service, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and his Office of brave and dedicated Patriots, and, all of Law Enforcement, for the incredible job done today at Trump International in keeping me, as the 45th President of the United States, and the Republican Nominee in the upcoming Presidential Election, SAFE,” Trump wrote. “THE JOB DONE WAS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. I AM VERY PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!”

With two assassination attempts in quick succession, questions are being raised about the resources and strategies available to the Secret Service as they work to safeguard Trump and other political figures.

When even a Leftist like Biden is making statements about how Trump needs more Secret Service protection, maybe it’s time for his fellow Democrats in Congress to listen.
