Democrats are in shambles after Kamala Harris was caught on camera doing this one humiliating thing

Harris has been known to make her fair share of gaffes. She perfected this skill by serving under Joe Biden as his VP.

And Democrats are in shambles after Kamala Harris was caught on camera doing this one humiliating thing.

Vice President Kamala Harris has often faced criticism for her shifting accents during public appearances, and her latest speech at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Leadership Conference has reignited this discussion.

On Wednesday, Harris addressed the audience in Washington, D.C., and social media quickly lit up with claims that she introduced a new “Latina” accent. As she greeted the crowd, Harris said, “Oh it’s good to see so many friends,” prompting an enthusiastic audience member to shout, “I love you!” Harris responded warmly with a slight vocal shift, replying, “I love you back!”

This moment caught the attention of political commentators and social media users alike. Former President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign account, Trump War Room, posted on X: “Kamala debuts her fake Hispanic accent while speaking to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.”

The critique didn’t stop there—former Rep. George Santos took to social media, laughing and asking, “When did she become Latina???” He joked, “Oh, Kamala, stop killing me here!”

Others chimed in with similar reactions. Steve Cortes, a former Trump campaign adviser, questioned if Harris would refer to the group as the “Latinx” community. Meanwhile, another social media user remarked, “Kamala debuts a Latina accent… No matter how bad you expect it to be, I promise you it’s worse.” The criticism continued with one person noting, “So how many accents has she done since campaigning? I lost count at this point.”

Harris has previously been called out for modifying her voice depending on her audience. Just earlier this month, while campaigning in Detroit on Labor Day, she used a noticeably different accent, shouting, “You better thank a union member!” In August there was a similar shift when she spoke with a Southern accent in Georgia. On the same day in Detroit, her tone changed yet again during a speech in Pittsburgh.

Most recently, at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards Dinner, Harris switched her vocal tone mid-speech, greeting the crowd with, “Hello to all my divine nine brothers and sisters,” before returning to her usual cadence.

These recurring shifts in her speaking style have not gone unnoticed by the media. Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy raised the issue directly with White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre earlier this month. “Since when does the vice president have what sounds like a Southern accent?” Doocy asked.

Jean-Pierre, however, dismissed the question, replying, “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” and quickly moving on without further comment.

The ongoing debate surrounding Harris’s use of different accents has sparked accusations that she alters her voice to connect with various audiences, whether in the Midwest, the South, or communities with Latino or French influences.

During her latest speech at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Harris reflected on her upbringing with her immigrant mother, whose accent she recalled shaped how the world treated her.

“I would often see how my mother was treated. She was a 5-foot-tall brown woman with an accent. And I would see how the world would sometimes treat her,” Harris said. She emphasized that her mother never lost her composure despite the challenges.

While Harris’s shifting tones may be intended to resonate with diverse audiences, they continue to fuel criticism and mockery, particularly from her political opponents.

And if anything, her attempt to relate to these audiences comes across as offensive and fake. The future president should be able to connect and relate with voters while also being authentic. And authenticity is a character trait that Kamala Harris does not possess.
