But ever since Biden’s abysmal debate performance in late June, CNN has changed their tune some.
Of course, the outlet is still issuing ridiculous Leftist takes about how awful former President Donald Trump is and how great the Democrats are, but at the same time, they’ve started to be more critical of Biden.
And that’s exactly what one CNN commentator and former Barack Obama adviser did the other night.

CNN political commentator Van Jones presented a stark contrast between Donald Trump surviving an assassination attempt and President Biden contracting COVID-19, calling it a case of “strength versus weakness” on Wednesday.
The former Obama presidential adviser expressed concern for Democrats, suggesting that Trump’s quick recovery after being grazed by a bullet during Saturday’s assassination attempt showcased resilience, while Biden, 81, was hindered by the virus.
“Strength versus weakness,” Jones said on CNN Wednesday night. “A bullet couldn’t stop Trump, a virus just stopped Biden.”
Trump, 78, traveled to Milwaukee for the start of the Republican National Convention a day after being shot at by Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, during a rally in Pennsylvania.
The gunfire grazed his ear and hit three attendees at the rally, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old volunteer firefighter.
Biden revealed Wednesday that he tested positive for COVID as he returned to his vacation home in Delaware from campaign stops in Las Vegas to recuperate.
The White House reported that he is experiencing mild symptoms, and the president, who was not wearing a mask when he got off Air Force One on Wednesday night, said he was “doing well,” according to reports from the press pool.
Jones continued to highlight the differences between the two candidates, suggesting that these contrasts are bad news for Democrats.
“You’ve got the nominees for this party getting their butts kissed,” Jones said, referring to Trump and his running mate JD Vance. “Biden’s getting his butt kicked by his own party. The Democrats are coming apart, the Republicans are coming together.”
Despite his critique, Jones acknowledged that many Biden supporters still want him to stay in the race, mentioning the “grassroots love” for the 46th president, as captured by Mediaite.
Earlier this month, Jones, who formerly served in the Obama administration, commented on the Democratic Party’s internal turmoil, describing it as being in “full-scale panic” over Biden and the growing pressure for him to withdraw from the race.
