Former GOP presidential candidate assaulted by vicious mob near DNC

Democrats have a bad habit of attracting angry protestors. That’s exactly what we saw at the Democratic National Convention.

And this former GOP presidential candidate was assaulted by a vicious mob near the DNC.

In a dramatic scene just blocks from the Democratic National Convention, former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy found himself at the center of an anti-Israel protest after making an unannounced appearance.

As soon as he stepped out of his car, Ramaswamy was immediately recognized and surrounded by a crowd of protesters and journalists gathered at Union Park. The park has been a hotspot for protests throughout the week.

Hatem Abudayyeh, an Arab activist with a history of supporting Hamas, was quick to confront Ramaswamy.

“You should take off. We don’t want you here,” Abudayyeh demanded, pointing out that Ramaswamy had no place at the rally if he didn’t support the Palestinian cause.

Abudayyeh, whose home was raided by the FBI in 2010 for alleged “material support of terrorism,” made it clear that Ramaswamy’s presence was not welcome.

Unfazed, Ramaswamy responded, “The good news is we are in America and so we all actually get to express ourselves,” drawing a sharp contrast between his stance and the hostility of the crowd.

Abudayyeh escalated the exchange, labeling Ramaswamy a “racist Zionist pig.” The insult ignited chants of “Racist go home,” and the situation quickly spiraled into chaos.

Protesters surged toward Ramaswamy, prompting his security team to swiftly escort him from the park, while police worked to control the agitated crowd.

Following the altercation, Ramaswamy spoke to The Daily Wire, offering a counter-narrative. He suggested that if the protesters genuinely sought an end to conflicts, they should support former President Donald Trump, who he credited with maintaining peace during his tenure.

“The irony is that if a lot of these people, if they want to stay out of war, there is a president who kept us out of war for four years,” Ramaswamy remarked, adding, “There wasn’t war in the Middle East. There wasn’t war in Russia and Ukraine.”

Before the tensions erupted, Ramaswamy had an unexpected and civil exchange with a protester. He recounted buying a communist newspaper for five dollars from a vendor and commented on the mixed nature of the protest, which he felt included some individuals open to thoughtful dialogue. However, he also noted that much of the protest had devolved into “a thoughtless and quasi-physical exercise.”

Ramaswamy explained that his visit was driven by skepticism toward media portrayals of the protests. “I wanted to come see it for myself because I didn’t trust what I was hearing,” he said.

At the scene, protesters carried a range of flags, including those representing Palestine, Black Liberation, Communism, and Hezbollah.

But one flag these protestors didn’t want to see during their demonstrations was the American flag. Warning: There is some strong language in the video below:
