Kamala Harris’s presidential hopes are about to be ruined by this Leftist ally

Harris has the backing of almost every Democrat in politics. But one Leftist is about to destroy everything for the VP.

As Kamala Harris’s presidential hopes are about to be ruined by this Leftist ally.

Vice President Kamala Harris has been working to carve out her own identity apart from President Joe Biden’s administration, which faces low approval ratings.

However, many Americans remain unconvinced that a Harris presidency would represent a significant departure from Biden’s policies. And if a large portion of Americans connect Harris and Biden to one another, then the VP could very easily lose the presidential election.

According to a recent ABC News-Ipsos poll, an overwhelming 74% of adults expressed a desire for Harris to pursue a different path than the current administration. Despite this, only 33% believe that she would actually do so if she were to become president.

When it comes to former President Donald Trump, the poll reveals a similar sentiment. About 64% of adults believe Trump would stick to the policies of his first term if re-elected, although 42% would like him to do so.

Both Harris and Trump face challenges in convincing the public that they are the right candidates for change.

A majority of Americans would prefer Harris (74%) to take a different course than Biden, and 53% feel the same about Trump in regard to his first-term policies.

As the 2024 presidential race heats up, Trump’s campaign has been highlighting Harris’s involvement in the Biden administration, especially focusing on her role in areas like border security and economic policies.

Harris has been making a concerted effort to differentiate herself, claiming during a September debate that, “clearly, I am not Joe Biden,” while presenting herself as part of a “new generation of leadership.”

She has also taken a more assertive stance on immigration, seeking to distance herself from her own administration’s record.

But based off her record in the past, it’s pretty obvious that she isn’t all that concerned with stopping the crisis at the southern border which she’s partially responsible for.

And in a recent appearance on ABC’s The View, Harris stated that while she wouldn’t change anything about the Biden administration, she would include a Republican in her cabinet as part of her outreach to anti-Trump Republicans.

Shortly after her comments aired, Trump’s campaign used the clip to reinforce the connection between Harris and Biden’s unpopularity.

The poll also highlights that voters remain dissatisfied with the level of policy detail provided by both candidates. A substantial 61% believe Harris has not been clear enough about her plans, while 56% feel the same about Trump.

Additionally, both candidates are seen as lacking fresh ideas for the future, with 53% of respondents finding Harris to be ineffective in this regard, compared to 54% for Trump.

With just about 3 weeks left until Election Day, Harris and Trump remain in a tight race, particularly in swing states that will play a crucial role in determining the outcome.

The RealClearPolitics polling average shows Harris leading Trump nationally, 49% to 47.2%, while in key battleground states, Trump holds narrow leads in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Harris, meanwhile, holds a slight advantage in Wisconsin.
