The Republican traitor has messed up big time. Her already failing political career is about to be done for.
And Liz Cheney is in a world of trouble after being exposed for sending these secret messages.
In a recent press release from House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-WI), new details emerged regarding former Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-WY) communications with a key witness involved in the January 6 Select Committee investigation.
According to the report, Cheney directly communicated with Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Mark Meadows, without the knowledge of Hutchinson’s attorney, raising ethical concerns about the conduct of the committee’s investigation.
The press release reveals that Cheney reached out to Hutchinson through Alyssa Farah Griffin, the former White House director of strategic communications under President Donald Trump.
Hutchinson, who had already provided testimony during two previous transcribed interviews, reportedly contacted Griffin in April 2022, seeking to provide additional information to the Select Committee. The two met at Griffin’s Georgetown townhome, where Hutchinson revealed that she had more to share.
“When Hutchinson reached out to Farah Griffin, she invited Hutchinson over to her Georgetown townhome to talk on April 26, 2022. That evening, Hutchinson told Farah Griffin she had more information she could provide to the Select Committee,” read the press release.
During the conversation, Griffin reportedly agreed to “[contact] Liz Cheney on [Hutchinson’s] behalf about scheduling another interview.” Hutchinson’s new testimony would include her now-infamous claim that President Trump had allegedly approved of rioters chanting “Hang Mike Pence.”
Despite Cheney’s concern that she could not ethically communicate with Hutchinson while her attorney, Stefan Passantino, represented her, Griffin reportedly continued to act as an intermediary between the two.
Griffin helped arrange Hutchinson’s third interview with the committee, this time with her attorney’s knowledge. However, the press release claims that Hutchinson and Griffin conspired to create a false narrative for Hutchinson’s attorney, explaining the need for this additional testimony.
In her subsequent interview on May 17, 2021, Hutchinson shared uncorroborated stories that, according to critics, conveniently fit the committee’s narrative painting Trump as the key figure behind the January 6 events. This new information had not been mentioned in her prior interviews, casting doubt on its reliability.
After Hutchinson’s third transcribed interview, which was led by Cheney, the two reportedly began communicating directly. Soon after, Hutchinson parted ways with Passantino, and Cheney allegedly provided her with new attorneys from Alston & Bird, who represented Hutchinson pro bono.
“When Hutchinson texted Cheney, she was still represented by Passantino which, Cheney knew,” the release states.
These interactions occurred without Passantino’s knowledge, according to the report, and led to a “secretive” fourth interview with only Cheney, another committee counsel, and Hutchinson’s new attorneys present.
This fourth interview featured some of Hutchinson’s most shocking claims, further adding to the controversy surrounding her testimony. After switching legal representation, Hutchinson’s credibility was defended by the committee, while Passantino was portrayed as giving Hutchinson questionable legal advice.
According to the press release, Cheney and the committee manufactured a narrative that Passantino had advised Hutchinson to withhold information or misrepresent her testimony in exchange for future employment opportunities.
In the broader context, Cheney has previously faced accusations of false claims, including one involving Breitbart News senior legal analyst Ken Klukowski. Cheney had asserted that Klukowski was sent to the Department of Justice by John Eastman to work under Jeff Clark.
However, Klukowski provided documents to the committee establishing that his transfer to the Civil Division of the DOJ had been planned since July 2020, long before Clark took charge of the division.
This incident, coupled with the new revelations about Cheney’s communication with Hutchinson, raises serious concerns about the integrity of the January 6 Select Committee’s investigation.
