Moderate Republicans can’t help themselves. They want to tear apart the party from within.
And Ted Cruz just received a massive threat from this RINO.
RINO Republicans are part of the very Swamp that former President Donald Trump wants to drain.
And former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), is definitely categorized as one of those RINOs.
Kinzinger is no longer in Washington, D.C., but that doesn’t mean he’s not trying to make a comeback. And U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is the Republican, Kinzinger is looking to replace.
“I would love to run against Ted Cruz,” Kinzinger said on an episode of the FiveThirtyEight Politics podcast.
Kinzinger was one of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump during his presidency. So it’s quite obvious that he doesn’t have good opinions on strong conservatives in Washington, like Ted Cruz.
The former Rep. also referred to Cruz as “the most complete con artist in politics, like one of them, to be able to run against his face in public would be amazing.”
However, Kinzinger noted on the podcast that he likely wouldn’t start a campaign against Ted Cruz anytime soon.
“I would like to, but right now, I’m not in a position to,” he told host Galen Druke.
“I’ve got a young kid. I’ve got to kind of come down from the last couple of years. But if there’s a moment that comes along and the timing is right, yeah, absolutely.”
Kinzinger did tell Druke that he might be “potentially” ready to get into politics again in six years.
Right now he’s currently making his round amongst varying media outlets to promote his book, Renegade: Defending Democracy and Liberty in Our Divided Country.
Former Rep. Kinzinger did not run for reelection in 2022 due to being in a district that heavily supports Donald Trump.
And after voting to impeach the former President, it’s very likely he would have been blown out by his opponent.
Not only did Kinzinger vote to impeach Trump, he also was on the January 6 committee that sought to hold participants from the January 6 riot on the Capitol, criminally responsible for the events of that day.
The Illinois RINO recently made an appearance on CNN to tell host, Anderson Cooper that he’d willingly vote for Joe Biden over Donald Trump in 2024, just like he did in 2020.
