The White House said three words about the U.S. military that will utterly infuriate you

White House

The lines between politics and the U.S. military have been completely blurred. America’s defense is now a testing ground for Leftist politics.

And the White House just said three words about the military that will leave you furious.

White House official John Kirby said on Monday that the United States military had a “foundational sacred obligation” to make elective abortions available to women in the armed forces.

Kirby explained the Pentagon’s new policy of paying for women’s travel and accommodation fees to areas where elective abortion is outlawed in an interview with Phil Wegmann of RealClearPolitics, saying:

Our policies, whether they are diversity, inclusion, and equity, whether they’re about transgender individuals who qualify, physically and mentally, to service, to be able to do it with dignity, or whether it is about female service members — one in five — or female family members being able to count on the kinds of healthcare, reproductive care specifically, that they need to serve, that is a foundational sacred obligation of military leaders across the river.

Since 1984, federal law has prohibited military facilities from conducting or sponsoring elective abortions, and the idea that the U.S. military has a “foundational sacred obligation” to encourage elective abortion is ridiculous.

If the “life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term” or “in a case in which the pregnancy is the result of an act of r*pe or incest,” the military will pay for (and military institutions will perform) an abortion.

Many Americans will find abhorrent the idea that the military has a “sacred” duty to spend taxpayer money on the purely elective killing of babies in the womb.

Kirby, however, persisted in arguing that the military would suffer recruiting and retention losses if the Biden administration did not adopt a new policy of paying for abortions.

“What if you’re assigned to a state like Alabama, which has a pretty restrictive abortion law in place, and you’re concerned about your reproductive care?” argues Kirby.

“What do you do? Do you say no and get out? Some people may decide to do that. And what does that mean? That means we lose talent, important talent.”

However, even before Dobbs, it was possible for military members to be assigned to a base that was not in close proximity to an abortion clinic.

A Guttmacher Institute survey found that “Nearly One in Ten People Obtaining an Abortion Traveled Across State Lines for Care” before Roe v. Wade was overturned.

When asked about military women who travel out of state for abortions, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton remarked on Fox News Sunday, “If they want to take that step, they have 30 days of annual leave. It shouldn’t be taxpayer funds giving them three weeks of paid, uncharged leave and then also paying for travel and lodging and meals, something that we don’t even give our troops when they have a parent die.”

Furthermore, the military paying for women to travel to get abortions is most obviously an attempt to skirt the law when it comes to the Hyde Amendment.

The Hyde Amendment was intended to protect the taxpayer from having their federal tax dollars go to paying for abortions that they may not agree with.

Having women in the military who are paid by the military (funded by the taxpayer) get more compensation by the military (the taxpayer) to go get an abortion is totally backward.

Again, no one is even bringing up cases like r*ape or incest. That was already understood to be covered.

But using taxpayer dollars for women to get abortions that are purely for selfish reasons doesn’t seem right at all. It’s all the more evidence that the Democrats and the Biden administration view abortion as this sacred right that needs to be protected at all costs.

Which is disgusting if you ask us.
