The Democrat Party seems to trip over themselves with every chance they get. There might not be a recovery from this misstep.
And this Democrat Senator made a massive mistake that has all hell breaking loose.
It’s important in this day and age for politicians to relate to the everyday American.
Democrat Senator Jacky Rosen (NV), is using her working-class background for her 2024 reelection bid to do just that.
But financial disclosures from her campaign that were inspected by the Washington Examiner, show that the Senator is woefully out of touch.
“Between January and June, the Nevada Democrat’s reelection campaign dropped roughly $12,500 in the likes of New York City, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles at swanky resort-style hotels and fine dining establishments, according to campaign finance disclosures reviewed by the Washington Examiner.”
By spending thousands of dollars in campaign money on restaurants and hotels most Americans can’t afford, the credibility of the so-called working-class Senator is destroyed.
And to make matters worse, Rosen has been a cheerleader of President Joe Biden’s desire to create bigger government.
“This type of lavish spending actually makes up a significant portion of the distrust and alienation that we see between Washington, D.C., and the average American citizen,” said Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust head, Kendra Arnold.
“The crux of this is that elected officials are making rules for people to live by in everyday life and suspicion can’t help but be roused if they increasingly choose to engage in elitist activities.”
While Senator Rosen wrote off a lot of these expensive dinners as “fundraising” expenses, it will be difficult to not view them as personal expenses.
“One such payment totaling roughly $5,600 was made on June 12 for ‘catering’ and ‘fundraising’ to Manhattan’s Le Bernardin, a French restaurant that is one of only a handful of three-Michelin star restaurants in New York City and was rated in 2023 by critics as the 44th best restaurant in the world” according to the Washington Examiner.

For someone who is campaigning to win a Senate race in Nevada, a $5,600 tab at a ritzy restaurant in New York City, seems to be quite the overkill for “fundraising” efforts.
This isn’t the first or last time out-of-touch behavior has been seen from crooked politicians.
One might remember in 2020 during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, when Democrat Governor of California, Gavin Newsom dined indoors without a mask, which broke his state’s COVID protocols that he put in place.
And that’s not to mention his outing occurred right after he discouraged Californians from traveling to see family for Thanksgiving.

While Senator Rosen is still favored in her bid for re-election, it would be wise for her to stop following in the footsteps of her Democrat Party constituent, Gavin Newsom, and instead become more in touch with the people she serves.
