The mainstream media outlet hasn’t been shy with their bias against conservatives. That’s why the former president is taking them to task.
And Donald Trump announces a new plot to shut down ABC.
A defamation lawsuit has been filed in federal court in Miami, Florida earlier this week by former President Donald Trump against ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.
According to The Hill, Trump filed the lawsuit because he believes that Stephanopoulos hurt his reputation by saying on-air several times that Trump has been found liable for the r*pe of E. Jean Carroll.
The ABC News host made the comments during an airing of “This Week” on March 10 while interviewing Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC).
“Judges and two separate juries have found him liable for r*pe and for defaming the victim of that r*pe. How do you square your endorsement of Donald Trump with the testimony we just saw?” Stephanopoulos asked Mace during the March 10 interview.
Alejandro Brito, Trump’s attorney, formed a 20-page complaint against Stephanopoulos, accusing him of making inaccurate statements “with actual malice or with a reckless disregard for the truth.”
“Indeed, the jury expressly found that Plaintiff did not commit r*pe and, as demonstrated below, Defendant George Stephanopoulos was aware of the jury’s finding in this regard yet still falsely stated otherwise.”
Trump requested an uncertain amount of damages as a result of the lawsuit.
The interview Stephanopoulos conducted with Mace over a week ago was widely criticized, including by Mace who is a victim of s*xual assault.
“I’m not going to sit here on your show and be asked a question meant to shame me about another potential r*pe victim,” Mace said in response to Stephanopoulos questioning her support of Trump.
“I’m not going to do that.”
The Left-leaning media needs to be held accountable and Donald Trump continues to prove that he’s willing to do that.
Ever since he began his first campaign for president back in 2015, he’s been a constant critic of the media and their bias against Republicans.
And now he’s really working on holding them accountable by smacking Stephanopoulos with this defamation suit.
Hopefully, other Leftist hosts see how Trump isn’t afraid to fight back against damaging comments that are made about him.
But in all reality, they’ll probably ignore the consequences Stephanopoulos is facing and continue down their destructive path of lying about conservatives.
It’s the same old song and dance from the media that we’ve unfortunately grown accustomed to over the years.
There used to be a time when the media could be trusted, but those days are long gone.
