It’s pretty common for political fights and arguments to break out in Congress. But this fight took things to the next level.
As a US congresswoman called this prominent Republican a name they’ll never forget.
Last week, fireworks flew during a Oversight Committee hearing in the U.S. House.
During that hearing, which involved trying to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress, Reps. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) traded blows that involved personal insults.
At one point, after Greene asked a question about Judge Juan Merchan’s (the judge in Donald Trump’s hush money trial) daughter’s involvement in Democrat affairs, Crockett stated, “Please tell me what that has to do with Merrick Garland. Do you know what we’re here for?”
“I don’t think you know what you’re here for. I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading,” Greene fired back.
That then led to the two congresswomen yelling at each other. Crockett also asked the chairman of the committee, James Comer (R-KY), if Greene’s words could be axed from the record.
“If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blond bad built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” Crockett said in an attack directed towards Rep. Greene.
A few days after the incident, Rep. Crockett made an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” where she claimed that Greene was being “racist” towards her.
“MAGA has historically been on social media, doing the things where they’re saying, ‘Oh, she’s black with lashes and nails and hair and so she’s ghetto,” Crockett said.
“So to me, this was her buying into that rhetoric and trying to amplify this for the MAGA crowd. And so yeah, I absolutely think that she only did it to be racist towards me.”
The Texas congresswoman also added that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) “should be inclined to rein her in.”
“They just let Marjorie do whatever she wants to do. And I think this was the first time that someone actually said, ‘No, you won’t just treat me whatever way you want to and get away with it,” Crockett stated.

Should Rep. Marjorie Greene lobbed off a personal attack towards Rep. Crockett during a Congressional committee hearing? No, as it shows a lack of maturity and respect from a public official.
But was Greene trying to be racist towards Crockett? Also no.
Per usual, Democrats are trying to grasp at straws in order to push their narrative.
And in this case not only is Crockett trying to push a narrative, she’s also trying to make a quick buck off her exchange with Greene.
Below is a post on X where she shared a picture of a shirt that reads, “Bleach Blonde Bad Built Butch Body – A Crockrtt [sic] Clapback.” In the post, she announces that she plans on selling the shirts. So much for taking the high road.
And yes, if you look closely you can see that in the picture of the shirt her name is spelled incorrectly. But remember, intelligence isn’t a common trait among Democrat legislators.
