Democrat congressman hits Donald Trump with a deadly threat he never saw coming

The Left is out for blood. A potential jail sentence for the former president isn’t punishment enough in their eyes.

And a Democrat congressman hits Donald Trump with a deadly threat he never saw coming.

Last Thursday, former President Donald Trump became a convicted felon after a jury found him to be guilty of 34 felony counts related to alleged falsified business records regarding hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

The Left of course was jubilated over the ruling, while Trump and his supporters felt as though the justice system failed that day.

But it looks as though Democrats aren’t satisfied with the former president being a convicted felon. They want him to be punished further.

U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) created a bill that would take away Secret Service protections from those who have been convicted of a felony.

Obviously, this proposed law is mainly targeted at Donald Trump.

The bill, HR 8081, the “Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable Former Protectees Act,” would “terminate United States Secret Service protection for felons.”

Thompson, a staunch Trump critic who was also the chair of the January 6 Committee, introduced the bill in an effort to amend US Code Section 3056(a) of Title 18 which would take away the protection of Secret Service for an individual if they have a “conviction for a Federal or State offense that is punishable for a term of imprisonment of at least one year.”

The Democrat congressman also found himself to be gloating over the ruling last week when he posted on X that, “Today’s verdict confirms what we have always known: Donald Trump is a criminal who thinks nothing of breaking the law, or our Constitution, to get what he wants. No one, especially an ex-president, is above the law.”

But HR 8081 is gaining some steam among Thompson’s colleagues, with eight other Leftists cosponsoring it.

Those Democrats are: Troy Carter (D-LA), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Frederica Wilson (D-FL), Bonnie Coleman (D-NJ), Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), Steve Cohen (D-TN), and Joyce Beatty (D-OH).

Fortunately for Donald Trump, the bill will make its way to the House Judiciary Committee and likely get shot down by Republican leadership.

“This measure would apply to former President Trump. It also would apply to all Secret Service protectees convicted and sentenced under felony charges,” Rep. Thompson said in a press release.

If the bill were to pass and come into law, then President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden could potentially be impacted by it if he ends up becoming a convicted felon at the conclusion of his current trial that’s underway at the time of this article being written.

Trump and his legal team are looking to appeal his guilty verdict with the New York Appeals Court.

Legal scholars predict that it will be overturned, but nothing is for sure.

Sentencing for Trump’s conviction will take place on July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention.
