Trump expected immediate pushback from the Left after winning the presidency. But that hasn’t been the case in some circumstances.
And Donald Trump just secured approval from this Democrat to carryout a crucial plan.
If Donald Trump expects to get his goals accomplished while president, then he needs a strong team behind him. That’s why he’s picking quality people to fill the roles in his staff and Cabinet.
For the most part, Democrats in Congress have come out to bash Trump’s picks so far. But not every Leftist has done this. In fact several have praised Donald Trump for who he’s tapped to serve in his administration.
Democrats On Capitol Hill Offer Rare Praise Of Donald Trump
As President-elect Donald Trump continues assembling his administration, his choices are receiving a measured response from Democratic leaders, with some voicing support for certain high-profile appointments.
One prominent voice of approval is Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), known for his pro-Israel stance and willingness to challenge both Republicans and fellow Democrats. Moskowitz has notably praised several of Trump’s Cabinet choices, including Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and U.N. Ambassador Elise Stefanik.
Moskowitz isn’t alone in crossing party lines to endorse some of Trump’s picks. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) publicly commended Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), whom Trump is reportedly considering for Secretary of State.
In a post on his official government X account, Fetterman described Rubio as a “strong choice” and expressed his willingness to support his confirmation. While Trump’s team and several appointees have confirmed the incoming roles, neither Trump nor Rubio has formally verified the Secretary of State appointment.
Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) joined Fetterman’s endorsement of Rubio, saying, “We don’t always agree on everything, but I think he’s gonna be a good choice.” This bipartisan support is unusual in today’s polarized environment, reflecting a surprising alignment on Rubio’s potential to serve as the nation’s top diplomat.
Moskowitz has gone a step further than most in his praise. In a reply on X, he enthusiastically labeled Wiles the “GOAT” (greatest of all time) and described her as “brilliant, tough, strategic.” Moskowitz and Wiles have previously worked together in the Florida Division of Emergency Management, where Moskowitz served as director of Florida Division of Emergency Management under Governor Ron DeSantis, giving him firsthand experience with her leadership style.

Moskowitz also had high praise for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), who will take on the role of U.N. Ambassador. A staunch ally on pro-Israel issues, Moskowitz expressed optimism about Stefanik’s impact in combating antisemitism at the United Nations.
“For those of us, who have been fighting antisemitism at the United Nations, they’re about to get some needed medicine @EliseStefanik,” he wrote on X.
Moskowitz’s commendation extended to Mike Waltz and his wife, Julia Nesheiwat, both of whom he noted “have served our country with distinction.”
However, not all of Trump’s appointments are receiving such positive feedback. Lee Zeldin, the presumed nominee for Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, has come under scrutiny for his environmental record.
The League of Conservation Voters, a prominent environmental advocacy organization, gave Zeldin a lifetime score of just 14%, one of the lowest ratings among New York representatives in 2020.
Trump’s selections have stirred reactions from across the political spectrum, revealing pockets of bipartisan approval alongside vocal opposition.
That’s good news considering most Democrats are quick to bash anything Donald Trump does, whether it’s actually good or not.
