And now Bill Clinton can’t believe the report that the DOJ just released.
After Jeffrey Epstein supposedly “killed himself”, as the government’s narrative goes, many immediately suspected that someone was behind Epstein’s death.
It became an internet joke that it was so unbelievable that Epstein would be able to kill himself in prison that everyone just started saying “Epstein didn’t kill himself” for fun in any and all conversations.
Simply put, not very many people believe that Epstein killed himself. Some have suggested that the Clintons were involved because they didn’t want Epstein to testify about the fact that Bill Clinton did have connections with Epstein.
But the government is back to doubling down on the idea that Epstein did in fact kill himself and that there were no nefarious actions in his death.
The internal watchdog group of the Department of Justice has released a report detailing the circumstances surrounding the death of Jeffrey Epstein in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019. The report concludes that there was “no criminality” since no one entered the vicinity where he was held in the moments before his corpse was found.
The Department’s Office of the Inspector General found no reason to dispute the conclusions of the New York City medical examiner, who concluded that disgraced financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide by hanging himself in his cell at the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC). The new report details the minutes leading up to Epstein’s death and those immediately following it, fueling rumors that he was murdered.
The report, which was issued on Tuesday, backed up claims made by officials working in the SHU that all convicts had been shut in their cells by 8 p.m. on August 9.
In a report dated August 10, 2018, the inspector general concluded that between 10:40 p.m. on August 9 and 6:30 a.m. on August 10, 2018, video surveillance “did not identify any staff or other individuals” visiting Epstein’s cell area from the SHU common area.
The OIG spoke with three individuals who were housed in the same SHU tier as Epstein before his death. The other detainees could see Epstein’s cell because they were housed directly across from it.
A prisoner reported that the last time the SHU was counted was on August 9 at midday. From that point on until a jail officer discovered Epstein’s death the following morning, the inmate did not see or hear anyone enter Epstein’s cell.
The OIG report states that the prison officer knelt down and shook Epstein’s body, calling out “Epstein, Epstein,” before attempting to pull him up from behind. Officer threw himself beside Epstein’s body and immediately began performing CPR (including chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth).
A female CO was waiting by the L Tier gate, and the officer yelled, “F***!” at her and questioned if she had pressed the button. The female officer replied, “Yeah, a long time ago,” the OIG report noted.
A lieutenant and a male nurse came to Epstein’s cell and attempted in unsuccessfully to revive him.
The malfunction of MCC New York’s Digital Video Recorder system on July 29, 2019 resulted in only one of the prison surveillance cameras in the SHU area of Epstein’s cell being operational, as indicated in the report.
And yet, the report emphasized, “a large part of the common area of the SHU and portions of the stairways leading to the various SHU tiers, including Epstein’s cell tier,” were captured on the working camera’s recorded video footage. Therefore, the camera would have captured anyone entering or attempting to enter Epstein’s SHU tier from the SHU common area.
Between 10:40 p.m. on August 9 and 6:30 a.m. on August 10, no one was spotted accessing Epstein’s cell tier from the SHU common area, according to the report.
Multiple nooses fashioned from spare prison sheets were discovered in Epstein’s cell on the morning of August 10, prompting the institution to place him on suicide watch and psychological surveillance. On August 8, Epstein updated his will by signing a new one.
The OIG provided the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) with a number of suggestions, many of which were adopted. The BOP was urged to make sure all security cameras can record footage, but it’s not apparent if this suggestion has been implemented.
Our opinion is that this still feels fishy. It’s too convenient that such a high-profile prison, who is placed on suicide watch, has surveilance malfunction and given just enough time to kill himself.
Sadly, we may never get all the answers to the Epstein story.
