Election season is in full swing. And candidates are doing everything to stay above water.

But this latest presidential candidate suspends their campaign in a stunning twist.

As the Iowa caucus drew to a close on Monday evening, it was time for certain Republican candidates to face the writing on the wall.

And that’s exactly what businessman and GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy did.

After only winning 7.7% of the vote in the caucus, Ramaswamy decided that his campaign was not made to reach the goal of winning the presidency.

“As of this moment, we are going to suspend this presidential campaign. There is no path for me to be the next president, absent things that we don’t want to see happen in this country,” Ramaswamy told a crowd of supporters during a press conference.

“I am very worried for our country. I think we are skating on thin ice as a nation.”

“We have done everything on our part – every one of us in this room has done our part to save this country, and I am so proud of every one of you who has lifted us up. But we’re a campaign founded on the truth, so that’s why we’ve made that decision today.”

Ramaswamy also used the press conference as a chance to congratulate Donald Trump for his win in Iowa, as well as announcing his full endorsement of the former president.

“Earlier tonight, I called Donald Trump to tell him that I congratulate him on his victory, and now going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency,” Ramaswamy told the audience.

“And I think we’re going to do the right thing for this country. So I want to ask you to follow me in taking our America First movement to the next level. It did not begin in 2016 – it began in 1776.”

Trump was able to pull off a landslide victory in the Hawkeye State by gathering 51% of the vote.

Ramaswamy came in fourth at the end of the day, with former UN Ambassador Haley coming in third and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis coming in second.

During Trump’s victory speech on Monday, he congratulated Ramaswamy for a hard-fought campaign.

“I also want to congratulate Vivek because he did a h*ll of a job,” Trump said.

The businessman and now former Republican candidate also told everyone that he plans on campaigning with Trump at a rally in New Hampshire ahead of the state’s primary.
