The Biden crime family is a tight-knit group. They’ll do almost anything to protect one another.
But President Biden just betrayed Hunter Biden in a move absolutely no one saw coming.
Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, was recently handed down a guilty conviction for federal gun charges.
His sentencing for the guilty verdict has yet to come, but many assumed that President Biden would commute his prison sentence if he was given time to serve.
But now, any hope for Hunter of avoiding jail time thanks to his father’s intervention has been squashed.
On Monday, the White House announced that Joe Biden won’t commute his son’s sentence, no matter what the result of the sentence is.
“President Biden has ruled out any type of pardon or commutation or reduced sentence for his son, Hunter Biden?” Philip Wegmann, a reporter for RealClearPolitics, asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
“Yes, he has,” Jean-Pierre said.
Biden confirmed the news last week when speaking at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the G7 summit.
“I will not pardon him,” Biden said of his son Hunter who was convicted on June 11 for three counts that hold a 25-year maximum prison sentence.
However, during that press conference, the president never revealed if he was planning on commuting Hunter’s sentence or not.
But now, the White House has officially confirmed that the commuting of Hunter Biden’s sentence will not occur.
Before this announcement, there was much speculation, and to a point still is, that Biden will end up helping his son avoid jail time.
But now it seems as though that speculation has been put to rest.
So far, there has not been a date given for the first son’s sentencing.
Hunter’s guilty verdict came about after he was brought up on charges of buying a firearm in the fall of 2018 and lying on paperwork about the use of drugs during the purchasing process.
He’s also slated to undergo another federal trial in September for alleged tax fraud.
It looks like Hunter Biden could very well be on his way to finally facing the consequences for his crimes.
Or will he instead get a light sentencing or get let off the hook entirely by Joe Biden despite the president’s pledge to not do so?
Only time will tell.
