This presidential candidate’s dark secret was just exposed in a scathing report

Every politician’s worst nightmare is having the skeletons in their closet come out before an election. It can derail a campaign.

And this presidential candidate’s dark secret was just exposed in a scathing report.

Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor, is currently running a strong campaign in the Republican primary.

The latest Morning Consult poll has her tied for second place at 11% with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

In order for Haley to win the Republican nomination, she’ll have to somehow defeat former President Donald Trump who is way ahead in first place.

But any chance she does have at beating Trump, has taken a big hit after previous comments she made on illegal immigration were dug up.

Back in July 2015, Haley appeared on a panel with the Aspen Institute which was led by Walter Isaacson who was the CEO at the time.

The panel occurred a month after Trump had announced his candidacy for president for the 2016 election. His speech announcing his candidacy focused on illegal immigration and how important it is to stop it.

During the Aspen Institute panel, Isaacson asked Haley, “As a family of immigrants from India, how does that inform your thinking on the immigration debate and what do you feel about the tone of the immigration debate as it has recently turned?”

Haley detailed the importance of strong illegal immigration laws, but then said that anyone entering the country illegally are not “criminals.”

“But let’s keep in mind, these people who are wanting to come here, they’re wanting to come for a better life too. They have kids too. They have a heart too, so we don’t need to be disrespectful.”

“We don’t need to talk about them as criminals, they’re not. They’re families that want a better life and they’re desperate to get here.”

Haley’s sympathetic comments differ quite a bit from recent comments she made last year on the illegal immigration issue.

“What we need to do is when you catch them, you deport them back from where they came,” the former governor said to Breitbart News in an interview.

“You can’t allow them in this country. My parents always said, ‘If someone doesn’t follow the law to come into this country, they won’t follow the law when they get into this country.’ We have got to stop the bleeding.”

While it is true that a lot of people crossing the border simply want a better life for their family, they are still breaking the law by entering illegally, making them criminals.

Immigrants are encouraged to take the right steps to legally enter the nation. But they shouldn’t be allowed to enter illegally just because they are facing hard circumstances.
