Anthony Fauci tried to run off into the sunset by “retiring” last year. He’s got another thing coming.
And Dr. Fauci was sent running for the hills after hearing this prosecution news.
On Wednesday, Governor Ron DeSantis said he would bring charges against Dr. Anthony Fauci if he were elected president. The governor of Florida has claimed that the former White House chief medical officer lied to the public about Covid’s severity and the effectiveness of mitigating efforts.
When asked by Outkick presenter Clay Travis if, if elected, he would pursue Fauci, DeSantis said, “Yes!”
“He is guilty of lying before Congress,” the 2024 Republican candidate declared.
As DeSantis put it, “one of the problems we have in D.C.” is that “bad jury pools” unfairly benefit Democratic officials and harm conservatives during the accountability process. “Fauci would be protected in that,” he remarked, referring to the country’s unfair legal system. “That would be a huge hurdle.”
“The flip side of that is ‘oh, you’re a Republican, you’re j-walking.’ They’re going to go after you,” he warned Travis. “What I’ve said we should do is that an American defendant in D.C. should have the right to remove the case to their home district. So if they try to ding you, you can move it to Nashville.”

When asked in January if he thought Fauci should be prosecuted, then-president Donald Trump remarked in an interview that, due to Fauci’s lengthy government service, he wouldn’t be as keen to sanction the doctor. Fauci stepped down as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and as President Biden’s top medical adviser in December. The 81-year-old physician has worked in public service for almost 50 years.
Video of Trump saying, “Fauci for me wasn’t as big a deal as he was for the Biden administration because Fauci for me didn’t have the same juice in terms of my respect for him,” was posted by the DeSantis campaign Rapid Response team. “But he was there for a long time and, you know, you give credit for that.”
Republicans in Congress have promised to keep digging into Dr. Fauci’s time spent advising the Biden administration on Covid strategy and public relations as the nation’s top infectious disease expert.
The GOP wants answers from Fauci, who they say has lied to the public about the safety, history, and effectiveness of Covid bans. Initially, he was against people wearing cloth masks, but after he came around and strongly recommended it.
Critics say that Americans were isolated and suffered substantial learning loss as a result of Fauci’s advocacy for longer lockdowns, school interruptions, and masks for kids.
During an interview with Outkick on Wednesday, DeSantis was asked if he would pick 2024 Democratic contender RFK Jr., a populist who believes in a lot of conspiracy theories, as a running mate.
Kennedy’s disagreements with DeSantis on key subjects would disqualify him as vice president, he told Outkick. The governor, however, has indicated that he is open to the idea of appointing Kennedy to a position in a federal public safety agency due to Kennedy’s unique perspective on the medical business.
In other words, “sic him on the FDA if he’d be willing to serve, or sic him on the CDC,” as DeSantis put it.
Dr. Fauci has also been facing some criticism in recent weeks as U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) tries to track down more info about Dr. Anthony Fauci and what he’s up to today.
Many Americans were led to believe that Fauci was outright retiring at the end of last year, but that was not necessarily the case according to new information that has come to light.
Rand Paul has discovered that Fauci is still on the federal government payroll, but not by the Department of Health and Human Services, and instead is being paid by the Marshall services.
Paul is still trying to get clear answers from the federal government as to the status of Fauci within federal agencies.
Simply put, Dr. Fauci is a slippery one indeed who seemingly can’t get pinned down on anything at all.
